Thank You Pastor Brad

Dear Members of The River Church Community,

We are writing today to invite you to join in the celebration of Pastor Brad Wong’s nearly 25 years of ministry at our church. Our specific role in the celebration is to gather those of us who desire to make a financial expression of our gratitude for the incredible dedication and love Brad has invested in our church community.

Brad joined The River in 2001 and became Lead Pastor in 2006. We have deeply appreciated how Brad has nurtured a sacred space in the midst of Silicon Valley where people on all different places on the spiritual journey can enter in and be pointed towards life in Jesus. We treasure our community’s values of authenticity, justice, healing, and hospitality, and each of these have been carefully cultivated through Brad’s intentional leadership.

Brad is not retiring, but retirement is only a handful of years away, and after a lifetime spent in ministry his retirement account could use some strengthening! We invite you to consider making a gift to celebrate his legacy at The River and help provide a more secure future.

Kevin Friesen will be collecting gifts so we can present them together at the celebration of Brad and Michelle’s ministry on August 23.

If you choose to make a gift, please know that all funds are personal gifts to Brad and are not tax deductible. No funds should be given via The River. If you would like to make your gift anonymously, please indicate that.

Of course you can give directly to Brad however you think best. We just wanted to provide a convenient way for people to give, as well as provide the service of coordination for Brad. We acknowledge the necessary trust imparted to us to do this task. We will keep careful records of whatever we receive.
